Sarah qualified in 1988 from the College of Occupational Therapy.
Nottingham Hospital: Sarah completed her junior rotation in orthopaedics, stroke and older adults.
Birmingham City Council: In 1994 Sarah worked as an Occupational Therapist. She progressed to become a Senior Occupational Therapist carrying out fieldwork assessments and recommendations for home adaptations and equipment for both children and adults. Whilst doing this work she also worked voluntarily as a Reflexologist with clients with life threatening conditions such as HIV and cancer.
Sarah progressed to become the Assistant Team Manager, managing a team of fieldwork staff and focusing on physical disability for adults and children.
Dudley Social Services: In 2002, Sarah became the Assistant Manager in Occupational Therapy to Dudley Social Services, again managing a team of fieldwork staff with a case load of adults and children with physical disability. She worked with surveyors/ architects with regards to adaptations of property together with other professionals involved i.e.: Physiotherapists, Social workers, Macmillan staff, Children’s Services to enable the clients to facilitate continued independence.
Whilst working as an Assistant Manager in Occupational Therapy, since 2016 Sarah has also worked as a Traditional Acupuncturist, mainly based in Birmingham, providing treatments for adults of all ages, for a wide range of conditions.
She went on to gain further qualifications in Counselling, Reflexology, Management and Communication and a BA (Hons) Licentiate in Acupuncture.
Sarah joined CJ Occupational Therapy in July 2017 as a Senior Occupational Therapist. She provides Occupational Therapy assessment for the provision of major adaption and specialist equipment for complex medico-legal cases. She also provides assessment and recommendation regarding adaptations for housing associations. Sarah also works with older adults on discharge to assess projects in the region.
